Lava P7 launched at Rs 5,499 with promise of Android Marshmallow

The device is powered by a 62 bit 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM.

Lava Mobiles today announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, Lava P7, at Rs 5,499. The device is available at all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and e-commerce platforms, said Lava.

The Lava P7 comes with a 5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with FWVGA (854×480 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It weighs just 133 grams and is 8mm thick. The handset comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with a guaranteed upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core processor which coupled with 1 GB RAM should offer decent performance. The device has 16 GB of internal memory and 32 GB expandable storage slot.

The dual-SIM Lava P7 is backed by 2000 mAh battery with Power saver mode that claims to offer up to 20 hours of talk time. In terms of camera, it sports a 5-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. There are other features in the device like Multi-Point Touch, Custom & Drawing Gestures and Smart Wake-up. For connectivity, this dual SIM handset offers WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB and GPS.

The Lava P7 is available in White, Blue, and Gold (With Pearl Finish) colours.
